ALT WEST / ALT THIAR is a codeword and working title for a long-term body of work by O.J.A.I. commissioned by Ormston House in Limerick, Ireland. The project mobilises para-administrative protocols, infrastructural archaeology, and speculative officialdom to move through the architectures, infrastructures, and institutional afterlives of Ireland’s Mid-West region.

In March, O.J.A.I. will undertake a Limerick residency leading to an Ormston House exhibition (September–November), concentrating new work by O.J.A.I. and convening local researchers and interlocutors in a temporary regional headquarters.

The Seduction of the Bureaucrat

Seduction of the Bureaucrat exhibition and series of public lectures and performances at De Garage, Mechelen explored the relationship between art and bureaucracy. It was a curatorial initiative of Pieter Vermeulen. It featured works and participation from Apparatus 22, Jan Banning, Deborah Bowmann, AA Bronson, Tiago Duarte, Anna Bella Geiger, Sarah Hendrickx, LAb[au], Ariane Loze, Wesley Meuris, Office for Joint Administrative Intelligence, Vijai Patchineelam, Lieven Segers, Pilvi Takala, Axel van der Kraan, Herman Van Ingelgem, Philippe Van Wolputte, and Vermeir & Heiremans.
